The Progressive Polygamists and This Is CANCER at the Firehall Arts Centre
It’s a bit early for Fringe festival season, but here’s a double bill that should get you in the mood. This Is CANCER and The Progressive Polygamists were two of the weirdly wonderful Picks of the Fringe at last year’s event; now they’re teaming up for shows on this Friday and Saturday (June 22 and 23) and the next (June 29 and 30) at the Firehall Arts Centre for just $25 for both shows. Polygamists is Emmelia Gordon and Pippa Mackie’s satirical comedy about sister wives. As for CANCER, our critics called cancer survivor Bruce Horak and Rebecca Northan’s bizarrely and blackly funny cabaret one of the finest shows ever at the fest over the years.
