Robert Lepage's Far Side of the Moon coming to Vancouver
Far Side of the Moon, the epic one-man production from internationally renowned theatre artist Robert Lepage, is coming to Vancouver this fall.
Staring award-winning actor Yves Jacques, the production is being staged at the Goldcorp Centre for the Arts from October 31 to November 10.
Far Side of the Moon tells the story of Philippe, who struggles with the loss of his mother and estrangement from his younger brother.
The story takes place with the Cold War rivalry between the United States and the Soviet Union to explore space as a backdrop.
Philippe, played by Jacques, finds himself adrift in the universe and begins receiving lessons from a higher power.
Far Side of the Moon has been presented in more than 45 cities around the world since it premiered in Quebec City in 2000. It was adapted into a film in 2003.
Born in Quebec, Lepage is also renowned for his work on rock tours, exhibits, opera, and circus performances.
Far Side of the Moon is being presented in Vancouver by the SFU Woodward’s Cultural Programs and Théâtre La Seizième.
