Russian Christmas fair at the Roundhouse

Now in its fifth year, Palme’s Performing Society annual Russian Christmas fair is becoming an annual tradition for those who like their seasonal cheer served with a side of culture. Revellers can hang out with Father Frost (no Coca-Cola-derived Santa here), watch a kids’ theatrical production of Buratino (the Russian Pinocchio), take in carols and dances, play traditional musical instruments, and make crafts—among other festivities. It all goes down at the Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre on Friday (December 23) from 4 to 9 p.m. If you miss that event, there’s an even bigger affair at Coquitlam’s Evergreen Cultural Centre on January 7. Giant fur hats are optional.
