For asecond year in a row, local and international artists lend their talents to TOMS shoes’ Art of Giving Tour, which lands in Vancouver at Ayden Gallery (88 West Pender Street) Friday (July 6).

“The TOMS One for One movement has touched many lives in a positive way with their pledge to give sight to a person in need with every pair of sunglasses purchased and a new pair of shoes to a child in need with every pair of shoes sold,” Ayden Gallery owner Ken Lum said in a news release. “Seeing so many unique interpretations of TOMS shoes and sunglasses will be a true spectacle, I know some of these artists have imaginative pieces in store for us.”

This year, the exhibit will feature shoes and sunglasses by the California-based brand that have been covered in designs by artists including Canadian comic book artist Camilla d’Errico, Sunshine Coast illustrator Ben Tour, painter Mandy Tsung, and Vancouver-based artist Tim Barnard. All shoes and sunglasses will be up for auction, and half of proceeds collected will be donated to A Loving Spoonful, a non-profit that provides free meals to people living with HIV/AIDS in Greater Vancouver.

The event will run from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. and feature local DJs Trevor Risk and Tyler Fedchuk.
