Vancouver Fringe Festival review: You Are Here: A Granville Island Audiodyssey doesn't inspire via earbuds

    1 of 1 2 of 1

In the tension between public and internal experiences, and the endless possibilities of sound, music, and text, audio art has enormous potential. In You Are Here, writer Liesl Lafferty takes advantage of virtually none of it. Instead, she offers a touristic trip around the periphery of Granville Island. Through your ear buds, Lafferty’s voice tells you that the Public Market is a place where vendors follow their dreams and that, although the island was once an industrial mess, it was saved by CMHC. There are a couple of dramatic threads, but nothing worth mentioning. Lame.
