Vancouver International Storytelling Festival descends on the city

Switch off the TV, abandon YouTube, log off of Twitter, and get back to the roots of narrative with the 19th Vancouver International Storytelling Festival, which kicks off tomorrow night (June 8) with an opening-gala event at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, featuring performers Brian Campbell, Abegael Fisher-Lang, Quelemia Sparrow, and Kevan Cameron, aka Scruff Mouth. Events will take place throughout the weekend, including a bike tour of events in five Vancouver parks, free shows at Hycroft, and a closing gala at CBC Radio Studio 700 with storytellers Amanda Nahanee and Veenesh Dubois.
