Vancouver’s Music on Main recovering after break-in
Music on Main, a nonprofit arts group, is recovering after a break-in was reported over the weekend at its office in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood.
On July 22, police responded to a 911 call from a person who discovered a door had been kicked in at the building at Main Street and Kingsway.
David Pay, artistic director of Music on Main, said an Apple work computer was stolen but no one was in the office at the time of the afternoon incident.
“It’s a giant big drag and it slows us down a little bit as we’re trying to launch our season,” Pay told the Straight by phone today (July 24).
“But in general we’re hopeful that we’ll just sort of get through it and keep bashing through all the work we have to do.”
Launched in 2006, Music on Main produces concerts at venues including Heritage Hall and the Cellar Restaurant & Jazz Club.
The police investigation continues.
