Wild titles and hundreds of shows as Vancouver International Fringe Festival tickets go on sale

Comments

It's time to start getting your Fringe on: tickets for Vancouver's biggest indie-theatre festival, as well as its program guide, are now available.

You can also find printed versions of programs for the Vancouver International Fringe Festival, which runs September 6 to 16 this year, at most Vancouver Blenz Coffee locations, Vancouver Public Libraries, and the Vancouver Farmers Markets.

Amid the 700-odd shows staged on and outside of Granville Island, you''ll find such intriguing titles as, ahem, Boobies, Tits, Breasts and Bosoms; Chlamydia dell'Arte: A Sex-Ed Burlesque; and Gametes and Gonads. Names include hilarious motormouth and Fringe icon Jem Rolls, Vegas clown Sandrine Lalond, Portland mask and physical-theatre geniuses Wonderheads, and Vancouver's ever-funny Ryan Gladstone as a 1970s "inebriated insurance investigator".

If the choices are just too overwhelming, mark September 6 on your calendar: that's when the Georgia Straight presents Fringe for All at Performance Works, an event hosted by David C. Jones that actually lets you preview snippets of a bunch of shows.
