Yellow Crane Festival of Art & Design on Granville Island

Comments

A former industrial platform on Granville Island morphs into the venue for an innovative art sale and open studio unlike any other you’ll see this summer. The large, old yellow crane between Emily Carr University of Art + Design and the Granville Island Hotel will be the site of the Yellow Crane Festival of Art & Design, featuring current ECUAD students and grads alike (including third-year painting student Angela McGrath, above), all set up under gazebos. They’ll be demonstrating their diverse media, as well as inviting the public in on the process with chances to make everything from a small block painting to a ceramic pinch pot. The fun takes place from Saturday (August 4) to August 19, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
