The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors Testament at the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival

      She She Pop, a Berlin-based performance collective of six women and one man, present Testament as part of the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival. Testament will run at the Fei and Milton Wong Experimental Theatre at the Goldcorp Centre for the Arts (149 West Hastings Street) from January 24 to 26 at 8 p.m., with one matinee performance on January 26 at 4 p.m.

      Testament is a retelling of Shakespeare’s King Lear, confronting the realities of aging and parenthood while dealing with issues, such as legal successions, hereditary diseases, homecare plans, gas receipts, and guilt.

      The play was chosen as one of Germany’s top-10 productions in 2011 by Berliner Theatertreffen, and the performance is in German with English subtitles.

      Tickets to Testament are $27 to $33 in advance and $29 to $35 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 604-684-2787.
