I'm pretty awesome at multi-tasking but splayin' for the 69 is, in my opinion, a waste of time.
Vancouver's history explained in the time it takes to drink a cup of coffee
Vancouver's history began with the First Nations.
If you're a newcomer to Vancouver—or you're simply curious about the city's history—this video might tell you some things you didn't know before.
(Warning: it was created by the City of Vancouver, so you'll have to put up with a little bit of hometown hype. Also, the Miracle Mile was run by Roger Bannister and John Landy, not John Landry, as stated in the video.)

Thumbs up. This video is fantastic. It should be done for every city. As a fan of the history, I´m very happy to be able to show something short, understandable, interesting and moving (!!) to my kids. It should help many people from Vancouver to remember important parts of the city´s history (accompanied with other interesting blogs and materials, such as The Oldest Buildings in Vancouver) and fill the blank spots in our knowledge.

Nice video. A minor suggested edit would be to delete "Burrard" from the names of the First Nations groups that live(d) here (around the 59-60 second mark). The proper name is Tsleil-waututh, which is also included in the list. You only need one.

Beautiful video makes the city look better than it is in many ways.
