No Pants SkyTrain Ride returns for fourth year

    1 of 1 2 of 1

As if public transit wasn't enough of a breeding ground for diseases. Vancouver's fourth annual No Pants SkyTrain Ride is set for Sunday (January 13).

How does one participate? The organizers at Vancouver Improv Anywhere explain:

Do not talk to others once you enter the Skytrain. No one knows each other. Sit in the car as you normally would. Read a magazine or whatever you would normally do. As soon as the doors shut, stand up and take your pants off and put them in your backpack. If anyone asks you why you’ve removed your pants, tell them that they were “getting uncomfortable” (or something along those lines).

The pants come down at 1 p.m. at Commercial–Broadway Station.

oh lord, didn't the awkward silence that fell over the skytrain cars the previous times this was done send a clear message?

Brings to mind song "you're trying to hard"...

Now that SF has banned public nudity this is about the only bit of fun we can still have that's not been made illegal. I hope that there are limits to people saying "I don't want to see your x." I think about the sort of ugliness I am exposed to everyday and someone's x is far less offensive than lots and lots lots of the things widely accepted and never protested against....
