The Georgia Straight presents Billy Bragg at the Vogue

Live Nation has announced that British folk-punk artist and activist Billy Bragg will perform a show--with guest Kim Churchill-- at the Vogue Theatre on Friday, April 5 for his Tooth & Nail tour.

Born in 1957, Bragg was 20 when he formed the punk group Riff Raff. After the group split in '81, Bragg moved toward politically inspired folk music with songs full of passion, anger, and wit.

With 16 albums to his name and a music career spanning three decades, Bragg has certainly made an indelible mark on the conscience of British music, becoming perhaps the most stalwart guardian of the radical dissenting tradition that stretches back over centuries of the country’s political, cultural and social history.

Tickets for the show are priced at $35 (plus service charges and fees) and go on sale this Friday (January 18) at 10 a.m. on the Live Nation website.

Tickets will also be available for purchase by phone at 604-569-1144, at Red Cat Records, and at the Vogue Theatre box office.
