Giant water drop to rain on Enbridge's hearings in Vancouver

If you've been attending protests against Enbridge's proposed Northern Gateway pipeline, you may have noticed some people with blue water drops pinned to their clothing. In the environmental movement, the drop has become a key symbol in campaigns against tar-sands pipelines in B.C.

With the Joint Review Panel for the Enbridge Northern Gateway Project in Vancouver this week, plans are afoot to create a huge version of this symbol as a community art project. Artist Zack Embree and activist A.J. Klein are calling for people to come out to the corner of Burrard and Nelson streets on Friday (January 18) at 11:30 a.m. to be a part of the Überdrop.

With hundreds of participants, they'll be able to combine 350 cardboard water drops into one giant symbol of opposition to the Northern Gateway pipeline. The following video shows how they're hoping to accomplish this feat.
