CelticFest Vancouver showcases a stellar lineup of concerts

      Don't be surprised if you see a lot of green around town during March 9-17, because that's when CelticFest Vancouver will be touching down. 

      Taking place at various venues around Vancouver, the range of activities runs the gamut from concerts and live music to events like Irish dancing, workshops, and, of course, the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.

      Musical performances include concerts by the North Shore Celtic Ensemble, SwingReel, Blackthorn, Vagabonds, Gaelic singer Mary Jane Lamond, fiddler Wendy MacIsaac, the New Fish Quartet, the Town Pants, the Halifax Wharf Rats, Tim Readman, Qristina & Quinn Bachand, Mairi Rankin, Allan Dionne, and Oliver Swain’s Big Machine.

      Other highlights include the Celts on the Creek kickoff event, a Celtic comedy night with Brendan Grace, a sloe-gin sideshow, the Whisky Kiss scotch-tasting, the Sionnaine Irish dancers, face-painting, a Gaelic-song workshop, the Royal Scottish Country Dance Team, stories by The Green Man, Sean the Canadian leprechaun, an Irish-Gaelic trivia quiz, a Gaelic dance-music workshop, a swordplay demonstration by Academie Duello, a contemporary Scottish folk-band workshop, the British Columbia Regiment Irish Pipes and Drums, a fiddle and guitar workshop, the CelticFest Ceilidh, a St. Patrick's Day parade, a Cape Breton fiddle workshop, an Irish-dance showcase, and a singing-Celtic-music workshop.
