We didn't hear much about "We are all Canucks" at Rogers Arena tonight.
It's a good thing because nobody wanted to be associated with a stinkbomb performance against the Anaheim Ducks.
Instead, the new slogan is "Our Team Our Way", supplemented with the nifty #otow.
But when the Ducks pulled ahead in the second period of tonight's home opener, there was a noticeable absence of people using this hashtag.
One exception was sports journalist Bob Mackin's tweet: "#otow Opposing Team's Offense Winning".
The Ducks won 7-3 as Canucks starting goaltender Cory Schneider let in five goals on 14 shots.
Wake me up when they get to the finals, I guess.
And if that takes ~12 years (minus # years since loss to Bruins), I guess I'll have a lot of free time on saturday nights between now & then.
After the last lockout I just .. stopped caring. Went from listening to every single game, pre-season & post-season on CKNW to ... nothing.
Cheering for NHL teams feels like cheering for Pepsi vs Coke in regional profits for the fiscal year.
