3:01 Pick Me Up: The Jim Jones Revue

    1 of 2 2 of 2

Let’s face it: 3 p.m. is the cruellest time of the workday. The morning latte has worn off, and the post-lunch crash has you staggering around like an extra from a George A. Romero flick. That’s why, each weekday at 3:01 p.m., we present you with a video hand-picked to kick-start your heart.

      Today’s offering:

Countless bands have tried to conjure up primordial rock ’n’ roll, but the results usually seem forced or faked, like some teenage ouija-board party where everyone claims to be freaked out even though they know full well that they helped push the little pointer around.

And then there are the rare cases of genuine demon possession. Some goat-horned entity is certainly driving the five souls in the U.K.’s astonishing Jim Jones Revue, and it’s probably the same one that first showed humans how much better guitar amps sound when they’re turned right up.

Sorry, metal, “Rock N Roll Psychosis” is devil’s music as the devil himself meant it to be played. Get behind this band, people! They’re here to save you!
