Second Idle No More: Songs for Life compilation features Hannah Georgas and Blue Rodeo
More than a few Canadian musicians have expressed support for the burgeoning Idle No More indigenous-sovereignty movement. So it's no surprise that the second volume of Idle No More: Songs for Life is out just two weeks after the original compilation hit the web.
Volume 2 of the downloadable series features tunes by acts such as Blue Rodeo, Hannah Georgas, Royal Wood, and Odds. It finishes with a lovely cello piece by Anishinaabe musician Melody McKiver.
The compilations are being put together by Marty Ballentyne, Holly McNarland, Kevin Joseph, and Ron “Ostwelve” Harris, and released by Revolutions Per Minute, a site dedicated to spreading indigenous music.

Turtle Island Rocks. At its infant phase we are joining together to create an event(s). Any collaboration and contacts would me most appreciated. I just set up the fb page...but have not announced it yet. Gathering materials for a presentation. Perhaps starting in Victoria. I will be there on the 5th of Feb.
