      Post office building sold  B.C. Investment Managment Corp., which invests public-sector workers' pensions, has bought the downtown Vancouver post-office building for approximately $130 million.

      RCMP rebuts SFU criminologist  The RCMP has issued a statement taking exception to a comment by SFU criminology program director Rob Gordon, which appeared in this week's Georgia Straight. Gordon claimed that the Mounties would support regional policing if they were in charge of it.

      Ontario chooses a premier  Ontario Liberals are holding vote today to determine who will replace Dalton McGuinty as their leader and as premier of Canada's largest province.

      SNC-Lavalin linked to Gadhafi family  The RCMP have claimed in a search warrant that former SNC-Lavalin executive Riadh Ben Aissa was involved in paying $160 million in kickbacks to the son of former Libyan dictator Muammar Gadhafi. The allegations have not been proven in court.

      Canucks get revenge on Ducks  Goalie Cory Schneider and his teammates have avenged a drubbing in their home opener by defeating the Anaheim Ducks 5-0 last night. Mason Raymond scored two goals.

      Justin Bieber linked to Nerf gun assault  TMZ.com is reporting that the Biebs actually came under investigation after he or someone near him fired a dart from a Nerf gun at a woman. These projectiles are not known for causing injuries.

      Glad to read that the Canada Post edifice has been sold. With any luck, it will be levelled soon and replaced by something that doesn't look like a Cold War era tribute to the Politburo.

      To paraphrase Reagan: "Mr. Robertson (and Council) - tear down this building!"

      Hmmm...what could possibly be built on the site of the old Post building? A new museum? An expansion for the art gallery? Or could it be condos? Such a mystery...
