Canada doesn't care about Randy Quaid

Are Randy and Evi Quaid slowly slipping into the clutches of the mysterious Hollywood starwhackers? Whatever the case may be, it appears that Canada officially couldn't care less.

Immigration Canada officials have confirmed that American actor Randy Quaid's application for permanent residency in Canada has been denied. (Evi Quaid's father was born in Canada, which grants her Canadian citizenship and the ability to sponsor her husband.)

CTV news is reporting that he was denied because he didn't have his passport. Quaid will be picking up his passport, which was seized by Canadian officials, at the U.S Embassy in Toronto.

What's more, according to a CBC News report, the federal Refugee Protection Division has also prevented Randy from reinstating a claim in which he claims he is the target of starwhackers, who they allege killed David Carradine and Heath Ledger. The Quaids are appealing to Federal Court.

Randy withdrew his refugee claim last summer.

For those who are just tuning in—or for those who tuned out of this ongoing, long-going, twist-ridden saga—Randy and Evi Quaid were arrested in October 2010 on outstanding U.S. warrants. In order to evade the Hollywood starwhackers, they escaped to Vancouver, or Hollywood North, a mere three- to four-hour flight away from Hollywood.

Or there's this version of the story: the couple still face felony burglary and misdemeanour charges in the U.S. for moving back into and vandalizing a guest home they once owned in Santa Barbara, California, in 2009. The couple failed to turn up at any court hearings. Both are wanted on $500,000 bench warrants and will be arrested upon returning to the U.S.

In April 2011, the Quaids screened a portion of Evi's avant-garde docudrama Star Whackers at the Rio Theatre. The work-in-progress film featured a Hollywood actor (played by Randy), with a penchant for repeatedly reciting Shakespeare and exposing himself for no apparent reason, being chased by a hitman (also played by Randy).

No release date for the film has been announced yet.

I believe you mean couldn't care less - could care less means they do care - which is then contrary to your headline.

When Evi gained Canadian citizenship she did sponsor Randy for 2 years now and there has been no problems. Yet all of a sudden now the permanent residency has been rejected. Why? Whether its permanent residency or refugee status they are rightfully entitled. As for the vandalized home its their home not a rental. The people that were in the Quaids home were fraudulent criminals with forged documents. The Quaids did not sell their home. They came home one day to this nightmare, shocked and traumatized. How would you feel if you came home one day to some strangers in your house claiming its theirs. It's mortifying! The Quaids did nothing illegal, they are not criminals and they don't owe any money. The reason they didn't show up at courts in Santa Barbara was because that is what the star whackers wanted so that they could murder them right then and there. The Quaids are very courageous in exposing the truth and you will find all the evidence on the internet and on youtube. The star whackers don't like the truth exposed so now they are determined to continue the character assassinations against the Quaids through tabloids in an attempt to brainwash us all into believing they are criminals or crazy. Now the whackers are trying to separate the married couple and corner them trying to force them back to the states so they can silence them for good. I pray the Quaids are safe and that real justice gets served where they are supported and protected from the whackers. They rightly have earned and deserve Canadian citizenship as they have gone through the appropriate expected processes.
