Coquitlam Mounties issue alert  CKNW has reported that the RCMP is "concerned for the safety" of 15-year-old Lilyan Shular, who said she won't be returning home and left with an unknown man. Shular has red and brown hair and is under five feet tall, and has been engaged in what police call "high-risk behaviours".

RCMP raid in Port Coquitlam  The Coquitlam RCMP has announced the execution of a high-risk search warrant for weapons on Larkin Avenue in Coquitlam last night. One woman with multiple warrants is in custody.

Mounties at Nanaimo schools  News 1130 has reported that RCMP officers have been dispatched to schools in the Vancouver Island city after a school-board employee allegedly issued a threat.

Transit workers approve contract  Bus drivers, mechanics, maintainance and SeaBus workers with Canadian Auto Workers Local 111 and Local 2200 have approved a three-year deal with Coast Mountain Bus Company.

Suncor Energy takes $1.49-billion hit  Calgary-based Suncor has reported a three-month loss of $562 million. This is primarily because of an "after-tax impairment charge" of $1.49 billion on its Voyageur heavy-oil upgrader. 

Deadly tsunami hits Solomon Islands  Five people have reportedly died in the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific Ocean after an 8.0 Richter scale earthquake last night triggerred a tsunami.

Guy Ritchie directs David Beckham  Madonna's ex-husband has directed a short film featuring soccer star David Beckham prancing around in his underwear. It was released to coincide with the launch of David Beckham Bodywear for H&M Collection.
