3:01 Pick Me Up: Suede

    1 of 2 2 of 2

Let’s face it: 3 p.m. is the cruellest time of the workday. The morning latte has worn off, and the post-lunch crash has you staggering around like an extra from a George A. Romero flick. That’s why, each weekday at 3:01 p.m., we present you with a video hand-picked to kick-start your heart.

      Today's offering:

It’s Suede day here at the Straight, thanks to the appearance of a spanking new video by the band that long ago pissed glitter, agony, and superior guitar riffs all over those dullards in Oasis and Blur (emphasis on the spanking).

Expect a new album, Bloodsports, in March; the band’s first since bowing out with A New Morning over 10 years ago, and 19 years since their masterpiece, Dog Man Star.

Let’s give thanks that “It Starts and Ends with You” is significantly better than the first download from the new record, “Barriers”, which surfaced in January and sounded too much like bisexual U2.

Okay, new Suede, we’re back on!

Both singles are good. The cover looks like a sequel to "Coming Up".
