Congrats are in order for one particular Miss Chatelaine.

One of Canada's most acclaimed vocalists, Edmonton-born singer k.d. lang, is finally getting her spot in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at this year's Juno Awards. Hallelujah, indeed.

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences announced on Tuesday (February 12) that it will pay tribute to lang's extensive career, spanning over 25 years, on April 21 when the awards are held in Regina, Saskatchewan.

The distinctive and innovative lang, who emerged with a punk sensibility and a Patsy Cline tribute band in the 1980s, was named most promising female vocalist at the Junos in 1985 for her debut album A Truly Western Experience. She helped define the alt-country genre and expanded into other musical genres. She rose to international mainstream fame on her duet with Roy Orbison, "Crying", in 1987, and her 1992 adult contemporary album Ingénue, which featured one of her biggest hits, "Constant Craving".

She has since racked up a collection of eight Junos and four Grammys. She also received the Order of Canada in 1997, a star on Canada's Walk of Fame in 2008, and was inducted into the Q Hall of Fame in 2011. (The Q Hall of Fame honours human rights pioneers from and allies of Canadian queer communities. lang came out as a lesbian in an article in The Advocate in 1992, and was one of the few music celebrities to do so at the time.)

lang (whose full name is Kathryn Dawn Lang) will join the likes of Bryan Adams, Shania Twain, Tom Cochrane, Anne Murray, and Buffy Sainte-Marie, in addition to several singer-songwriters whose songs she covered on her 2004 album Hymns of the 49th Parallel, such as Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Bruce Cockburn, and Leonard Cohen.

"To be included in the lineage of Canadian artists who have formed my musical DNA and who remain my mentors, is beyond humbling," k.d. lang stated in a news release. "I am deeply honoured to be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame."
