Marvel to get into the chick-lit game

    1 of 1 2 of 1

Already known for dominating the comic-book and the superhero-movie markets, Marvel is partnering with Hyperion Books to bring popular characters like She-Hulk to a wider audience through fiction designed for female readers.

Hyperion Books editor-in-chief Elisabeth Dyssegaard recently told publishing-industry magazine Publishers Weekly that “we think the books will definitely appeal to comics readers – male and female – but also draw a new crowd of women readers who will be introduced to superheroes through a medium they already love."

The series will start off with the June release of The She-Hulk Diaries, which will see the titular green superheroine and cousin of Bruce Banner (aka The Incredible Hulk) battling villains by night and the legal system by day, all while looking for Mr. Right.

'Cause an intelligent, sexy, powerful woman always needs to be on the lookout for a man, right? Not the superpower or message I'd choose.
