Who has best video in Vancouver–False Creek: Sam Sullivan, Lorne Mayencourt, or Brian Fixter?

    1 of 4 2 of 4

A week from today, B.C. Liberals will choose their candidate in Vancouver–False Creek.

This gave me the bright idea of presenting campaign videos of the three candidates: former mayor Sam Sullivan, former MLA Lorne Mayencourt, and young lawyer Brian Fixter.

There's something about those B.C. Liberal campaign videos that stir our soul. They make our hearts soar and our pride in our city runneth over.

There are never images of urban blight or any other social problems in a B.C. Liberal campaign video.

They simply don't exist in the Best Place on Earth.

Here, everyone is good-looking, articulate, educated, successful, and reasonably prosperous. (Hey, no jokes about Mayencourt's personal bankruptcies!)

So you be the judge. Whose video do you prefer? Don't be too cruel to the kid—it's his first run for public office.

Brian Fixter ftw. 7,000 views. Not bad for the underdog.

Sam Sullivan is authentic and real...he put major thought into his community and the people in his video...this is the person that understands False Creek... Thank goodness for that! His video is the best and far more thoughtful to what is going on in this riding! Go Sam!

Fixter for the win: genuine, intelligent, affable, fresh. It's what we need.

Also in talking with Brian, he made it clear that this video is an intro video -- to get his name out there as he doesn't have the name recognition that the other candidates do -- more of his ideas/platform can be found on his personal website.

Brian's video had the best production values (smooth camera work, lighting, and editing), Lorne's had gravitas, and Sam is looking better than he ever did as mayor.

But this little matters as Matt Toner is going to sew this one up nicely for the NDP, and perhaps because the best way for small and high tech business to get both access to and advocacy with BC's next premier is by electing Matt.

Apart from sports highlights and pornography nobody today watches a video longer than 45 - 60 seconds. Sam, you had me asleep at the 30 second mark, Lorne, you've done some good stuff but I had to hit the snooze button around 45 seconds and Brian made it through the whole thing.Like Randy pointed out, good production values.

Whoever is going up against Matt Toner is going to have be media hip and same generation because that's who lives downtown these day. Cudos to anybody who has the guts to run for public office today big boos to voters to lazy to participate.

I'm not sure how I feel about somebody who pre-posted an acceptance video representing us in Victoria.

Brian Fixter's was a great video. Sam is the best candidate. Lorne's was a disaster.

      Much like his campaign.
