No surprise that Roberto Luongo is in the net against the Blues

The truth is that Roberto Luongo has been a better goalie than Cory Schneider this year.

And if Canucks fans were polled after the team lost 4-3 to the Dallas Stars on February 15, a majority probably would have preferred trading Schneider rather than Luongo.

      Luongo's goals-against average of 1.45 leads the league. It's far ahead of Schneider's 2.62 goals-against average.

And Luongo's save percentage of 0.943 is second in the NHL, whereas Schneider is 21st at 0.912.

If Luongo maintains these numbers, he could be playing goal for Canada in the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.

Tonight against the St. Louis Blues, the man known as Luuuuuu will get his seventh start in net against rookie Jake Allen. Allen was called up after Blues goalie Jaroslav Halak was injured.

Meanwhile, the team's three Swedes are leading the Canucks' scoring parade. This raises a question whether they'll be playing against Luongo next year in the Olympics.

The team leader, Daniel Sedin, has 12 points on four goals and eight assists. Brother Henrik has 10 assists and no goals, and third is Alex Edler with nine points on three goals and six assists.

Mason Raymond is next with eight points on four goals and four assists.
