The tabloid Sun newspaper in the U.K. has reported a new angle in the investigation of the South African Blade Runner Oscar Pistorius.

Police, according to the paper, are examining if Pistorius was experiencing "roid rage", causing him to shoot his girlfriend, model Reeva Steenkamp.

She was shot four times through a bathroom door in Pistorius's home in Pretoria. There was also a cricket bat stained with blood inside the mansion.

Pistorius has claimed that he thought a burglar was in the bathroom while his girlfriend was sleeping in the bedroom.

However, police are looking into whether Steenkamp was bashed in the head with the bat before being shot.

And the presence of boxes of steroids in Pistorius's home is not going to help the image of the Olympics.
