David Bowie falls to earth again in new video (NSFW)

Here's further evidence that 2013 is shaping up to be the Year of the David.

First there was "Where Are We Now?", the haunting and wholly unexpected new video released by David Bowie last month, followed by the announcement of a wholly unexpected new album due March 12, followed in wholly unexpected fashion by this—"The Stars (Are Out Tonight)", which appeared yesterday.

The Floria Sigismondi directed short makes some obvious references to Bowie's role in the 1976 film, The Man Who Fell to Earth, and a few oblique ones, too (is co-star Tilda Swinton's character made up to look like Candy Clark in the same film? Why, yes!)

Throw in some night terrors, explicit lesbianism, and a joke about "hump day", and here's the best (and weirdest) six minutes of your morning.
