Scott McIntyre honoured by friends and former colleagues

Last night, I spent most of my evening writing a blog post about the sad and untimely death of Georgia Straight film critic and UBC film-studies professor Mark Harris.

While I was doing this, there was a festive celebration taking place across town at the Equinox Gallery to honour publisher Scott McIntyre.

Former Douglas & McIntyre editor Iva Cheung described on her blog how members of the Squamish Nation wrapped the veteran publisher in one of their blankets, symbolizing the high regard he is held in the community.

She also noted that McIntyre expressed pleasure over the sale of the Greystone imprint to Heritage House, and the Douglas & McIntyre imprint to Harbour Publishing.
