Premier apologizes for ethnic blunder  Premier Christy Clark has said the language and some of the recommendations in a B.C. Liberal party plan to woo nonwhite voters are "absolutely inappropriate". This came after the NDP revealed that government resources were being used to help the B.C. Liberals create a database.

Liberals lure former Metro Vancouver chair  Surrey councillor Marvin Hunt, a former chair of the regional government board of directors, has stepped forward as the B.C. Liberal candidate in Surrey-Panorama. Former candidate Sukh Dhaliwal stepped down after being charged with tax evasion. 

Former MP runs for B.C. Conservatives  Paul Forseth, who represented New Westminster residents in Parliament for more than a decade, will run for the B.C. Conservatives in the Royal City in the provincial election.

Mayor pushes for Broadway subway  Yesterday, Mayor Gregor Robertson and UBC president Stephen Toope released a KPMG report citing economic benefits from building a $2.8-billion subway between the Broadway SkyTrain station and UBC's Point Grey Campus.

Avalanche risk rises  The Canadian Avalanche Centre has issued a "high" avalanche warning for the Sea-to-Sky region at the alpine, treeline, and below-treeline levels, and a "high" warning for the North Shore at the treeline level.

South African cops linked to dragging death  Eight officers have been arrested after a video emerged showing a man being dragged through the streets while being handcuffed to a police van.
