The Georgia Straight presents Ky-mani Marley and Luciano at the Commodore
Melo productions has announced that reggae artists Ky-Mani Marley and Luciano will bring their 2013 Summer Splash tour to the Commodore Ballroom on Friday, June 21.
Ky-Mani Marley, the son of Bob Marley, continues where his father left off, creating a musical style that transcends cultural and creative boundaries incorporating world music, hip hop, blues, rock, and reggae.
Luciano, a second-generation roots reggae artist and poet, began recording in 1992. With the release of his 1995 album Where There Is Life, Luciano emerged as one of the most important reggae singers in decades. He has since received numerous awards including Mandela’s ‘Most Cultural Artist’.
Tickets for the show are priced at $29.75 (plus service charges and fees) and go on sale this Friday (March 15) at 10 a.m. but Straight readers can take advantage of our exclusive presale from Wednesday (March 13) at 10 a.m. to Friday (March 15) at 10 p.m. by going to the Ticketmaster website and submitting the password Splash.
Tickets are also available for purchase at Highlife and Zulu Records, Rehanah’s Roti, Patty Shop & Caribbean Market, Salon Supreme, Piassa Hairdressing Salon, and at all Ticketmaster outlets.
