Mindy Kaling writing second memoir

I read Mindy Kaling’s first book, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (and Other Concerns), in January 2012, a few months after it was published. While I didn’t love it as much as Tina Fey’s Bossypants—the Saturday Night Live alumni’s memoir that Kaling’s book was often compared to—I still enjoyed it a lot.

According to Deadline, the 33-year-old actor, comedian, writer, and producer revealed during a recent panel discussion at California-based television festival PaleyFest that she is writing a second memoir. The untitled book would document “the high highs and low lows of the past 18 months”, which included the premiere of Kaling’s Fox sit-com The Mindy Project in 2012.

The Mindy Project has been renewed for a second season, and Kaling said that she will use the time in between seasons to write her book. Kaling also said that she will reprise her role as Kelly Kapoor on the upcoming final season of NBC’s The Office.
