PETA delivers “sexy pizza gals” to B.C. Dairy Industry Conference in Vancouver (photos)

      So the sixth annual B.C. Dairy Industry Conference got underway today (December 2) in Vancouver. According to its website, the conference, put on by the B.C. Dairy Association and B.C. Milk Marketing Board, is the "most anticipated event of the year for dairy farmers and industry affiliates alike".

      No doubt People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wasn't invited to the milk industry party. But that didn't stop the animal-rights group from staging one of its trademark (and, critics say, sexually objectifying) publicity stunts to coincide with the conference kick-off.

      At lunch hour, PETA stationed three “sexy pizza gals” at the downtown corner of West Georgia and Granville streets. If you happened to walk by at that time, you may have scored a free slice of vegan pizza topped with locally made Daiya cheese.

      PETA's message: people should "give dairy products the boot", eat dairy-free cheese, and drink almond and soy milk.

      Meanwhile, the dairy conference has a panel discussion entitled "Animal Welfare at the Table" on its agenda.

      For last year's conference, PETA protesters—one wearing a cow costume—stood outside the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel holding signs with messages like "Cow's milk is for baby cows".

      But who will eat the grass if we don't herd animals who provide milk and wool?

      Let it decompose into bogs to create next century's fossil fuel?

      That's great! It's important to educate people that they can live a healthy life without dairy and meat and without cruelty and exploitation of animals.

      @Beatnuck

      Why is it that you think its okay to insult "skinny" girls? What's wrong with them? You know, it's okay to be slim...some people are just naturally like that.

      Jealously? maybe...You're just hating for really no apparent reason, so jealously seems to fit well.

      Wonder why you have so many down votes?
