Songs: Ohia and Magnolia Electric Co. singer Jason Molina dead at 39
Alcohol has claimed yet another beautiful life—Jason Molina, the critically acclaimed singer-songwriter best known as the leader of indie rock band Songs: Ohia, has passed away at the age of 39 from organ failure due to alcoholism.
The first Songs: Ohia album was released in 1997, and the band changed its name to Magnolia Electric Co. in 2003. He also released three solo albums.
Molina struggled with the disease for a decade before 2009 when he was forced to quit music due to severe alcoholism.

Very sad news. Too bad he had to go out like that. Thinking of his family and friends - a great loss.
