The Georgia Straight presents fun. and Tegan & Sara at Ambleside Park

Live Nation has announced that indie-pop groups fun. and Tegan and Sara will co-headline an all-ages show at Ambleside Park on Saturday, August 31, as part of the annual Concerts in the Park series.

Consisting of Nate Ruess, Andrew Dost, and Jack Antonoff, New York-based group fun. made Grammy history this year, becoming the first ever band to score nods in the top four categories: “Song of the Year,” “Record of the Year,” “Album of the Year,” and “Best New Artist.”

fun. will be touring in support of Some Nights, the group's second studio album, which includes the singles "We Are Young", "Some Nights", and "Carry On".

Canadian duo Tegan and Sara, comprised of twin sisters Tegan and Sara Quin, has put out seven studio albums to date, including the recently released Heartthrob.

The duo has successfully bridged the pop and indie worlds, working with diverse artists like superstar DJs Tiesto and David Guetta and touring with such acts as the Killers and Neil Young.

A portion of the ticket sales from the tour will benefit The Ally Coalition, a partnership created by fun. and designer Rachel Antonoff devoted to encouraging and inspiring the music, fashion, and entertainment communities to take action in support of LGBTQ equality. Each tour stop will showcase the Equality Village, featuring The Ally Coalition as well as other local and national LGBTQ equality organizations.
