Earlier this month, NBC announced that Jimmy Fallon will succeed Jay Leno to host The Tonight Show starting in 2014. Now, fans of Jimmy Fallon’s house band—The Roots—on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon can breathe a sigh of release: Questlove confirmed today (April 8) that The Roots will follow the talk-show host to his new gig.

The Tonight Show is coming to us; we're not going to The Tonight Show... it's going to be the same show. But that's a year from now," the Roots drummer told Fuse, as reported by Pitchfork. “We're staying [with Jimmy].”

The American hip-hop neo-soul band was formed in Philadelphia in 1987. They have been serving as the house band on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon since the show started in 2009.
