The American actor has decided to get literary, as VH1 is reporting that he has written a YA trilogy that’s based on material he created while in his early 20s.

Famous for his roles as Nick Andopolis on Freaks and Geeks and Marshall Eriksen on How I Met Your Mother, Jason Segel is known for playing the lovable slacker in films like Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up, and Jeff, Who Lives at Home

Segel also spearheaded the development and production of recent family flick The Muppets, which brought the beloved puppets to a whole new audience and renewed the arguably flagging franchise.

While details of his upcoming book project are thin on the ground, Segel hinted that “it’s about kids facing their biggest fears, that’s about all I can tell you.”

Eager readers can expect a release date later this year.
