Canadian talk-show host George Stroumboulopoulos is headed to CNN. The former MuchMusic VJ and current host of CBC’s George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight will host a weekly interview show on CNN over the summer.

“We’re really pleased to bring this special series to CNN,” Amy Entelis, senior vice president for talent and content development for CNN Worldwide, states on CNN’s blog.  “It is a good example of the expansion of the CNN strategy to bring new kinds of relevant and engaging programming to a broad audience.”

According to Deadline, the TV series will include 10 hour-long episodes, airing Fridays. The show, which doesn’t have a name yet, will be filmed live in Los Angeles and include interviews and musical guests.

“I feel really lucky to have been in broadcasting for 20 years up in Canada—and I’m excited to now also bring our conversations with people making the biggest news in entertainment, politics, sports, and pop culture to a whole new audience,” Stroumboulopoulos states on CNN’s blog.

Stroumboulopoulos—known to Canadian viewers as “Strombo”—was born in Ontario in 1972. He was raised in Toronto and studied radio broadcasting at Humber College before starting his career in radio. Stroumboulopoulos has hosted his CBC talk show since 2005.
