Writer Alex Roslin has won a nomination for a national journalism award for his July 2012 Georgia Straight feature story about concerns over radiation levels in fish caught in the Pacific Ocean more than a year after the 2011 Fukushima Daichi nuclear disaster.

The story, "Japan's irradiated fish worry B.C. experts", was announced as one of four finalists in the magazine category of this year's Canadian Association of Journalists awards for outstanding investigative journalism in Canada for 2012.

The other finalists are local journalist Frances Bula for an article in Vancouver Magazine, Alison Motluk for Maisonneuve Magazine, and Corinne Cecilia in Maison et Demeure.

Winners will be announced on May 4 at the CAJ awards gala during its three-day national conference in Ottawa.
