      NDP plans to release fiscal plan  After months of B.C. Liberal complaints about the NDP's lack of specifics, the Opposition will unveil a fiscal plan this morning.

      Leaders debate scheduled  Four provincial party leaders—Christy Clark, John Cummins, Adrian Dix, and Jane Sterk—will hold their only televised leaders debate of the upcoming campaign on April 29. It will be moderated by former CKNW broadcaster, former CBC lifestyle-show host, and former Global TV anchor Jennifer Burke.

      Luongo shines  Veteran goalie Roberto Luongo blocked 40 shots as the Vancouver Canucks defeated Calgary 4-1 in the first of a five-game road trip. Goals by Max Lapierre, Mason Raymond, and Daniel Sedin over a 4:50 stretch late in the third period put the match away.

      Young Tsawwassen chief elected  Bryce Williams, 24, defeated Kim Baird 106-86 in a second election for chief of the Tsawwassen First Nation. His election over Baird in September was annulled after complaints over voting irregularities.

      Moose shows up in Safeway  A young moose wandered into a Safeway store in Smithers, B.C., passing through the electronic door. He was eventually led outside by an employee holding an apple.

      Airbags lead to recalls  More than two million Japanese cars, including more than 200,000 in Canada, are being recalled because of faulty airbags. Many are 10 years old and were installed in front of the passenger seats in Toyotas, Hondas, Nissans, and Mazdas.

      North Korean missile in firing position  CNN has cited an unnamed U.S. official saying that North Korea has positioned a missile in an upright position, adding to fears that dictator Kim Jong-un is preparing for a launch. This comes as U.S. secretary of state John Kerry is about to visit the region.

      Bitcoin bubble bursts  The value of bitcoins, a currency invented for the Internet, fell by half this morning on panic selling, dropping to about $130. More details are available here.

      Malawi president slams Madonna  The president of the tiny East African country of Malawi, Joyce Banda, has accused pop singer Madonna of exaggerating her humanitarian efforts. Madonna has claimed that the president is lying because the singer removed Banda's sister as head of her charitable organization.

      Cuba and America cooperate  The U.S. blockade of Cuba, the Bay of Pigs fiasco, and a 1962 missile crisis ruptured relations between Fidel Castro and the U.S. But Associated Press has reported that relations have improved significantly.

      Jay-Z raps about Cuba trip  In a new song entitled "Open Letter", Jay-Z writes that "politicians never did shit for me" and that Obama told him that he was going to get him "impeached" for visiting Cuba.
