Whitesnake brings its riff-riddled hard rock to Coquitlam this summer

Alright, who's ready to slide it in? And I don't mean just a little bit, people. I mean right to the top!

Whitesnake is playing Coquitlam's Red Robinson Show Theatre on August 14.

The band--which was formed by singer David Coverdale after he left Deep Purple in 1976--originally boasted primo guitarists Micky Moody and Bernie Marsden, and has also counted Purple keyboardist Jon Lord and drummer Ian Paice among its members.

I remembering buying a copy of the 1980 album Live...in the Heart of the City at Zulu or somewhere and wearing out tracks like "Fool For Your Loving" and "Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City".

Millions more fans caught on to the group when it broke in the U.S. in the mid-'80s and hit it big with the more commercial Slide It In and Whitesnake albums and all those videos featuring Tawny Kitaen in a miniskirt.

Of course, nothing Coverdale did with Whitesnake ever matched his work with Deep Purple on the Burn and Stormbringer albums. That's just a known fact.

Still, if you feel the need for an '80s hair-farmer fix and haven't yet heard Tommy Aldridge play drums live, tickets go on sale this Thursday at 10 am at Ticketmaster.

      You are funny Newt.
It is just a little bit disturbing that you wrote the line "Alright, who's ready to slide it in? And I don't mean just a little bit, people. I mean right to the top!".
Will you be wearing your Mike Reno approved red leather pants to the show?
      See ya there.

Saw Whitesnake open for Quiet Riot in 84 when they had Cozy Powell drumming. Again in 87 when they opened for Motley Crue at the Coliseum, rowdiest show I've ever attended! Last time I saw them was in 1990 at the Coliseum when they had Steve Vai. Tommy Aldridge is an awesome drummer, hopefully still plays solos with his hands!

Yeah, I remember that Steve Vai show too. I mostly remember him rolling around on the stage. What a freak!

Saw Vai twice with David Lee Roth, excellent guitarist! I remember when Ozzy came to Vancouver in 81 on the Blizzard tour, my friend went and the first thing I asked was what was Randy Rhoads like. He said he was good but Tommy Aldridge was awesome! Been a fan of his since he was Pat Travers drummer!
