News for Youse: Hunting for alleged Boston bomber, NDP launches new ad, and Musharraf arrested

      Boston bombing manhunt  Dzhokar Tsarnaev, a 19-year-old U.S. immigrant believed to be from Chechnya, is being hunted as the prime suspect in the bombing at the Boston Marathon. The second suspect, his 26-year-old brother Tamerian, died in hospital after being shot by police.

      Liberal lukewarm on gallery proposal  Bill Bennett, who was the B.C. Liberal minister overseeing arts and culture before the legislature was dissolved, said on CBC Radio this morning that he didn't think there was $50 million available for a new purpose-built Vancouver Art Gallery. The city is prepared to sign a lease with the VAG, but only if it can raise $50 million from the province and $100 million from the feds.

      B.C. Liberals put price on Dix  Veteran Liberal cabinet minister Mike de Jong has accused NDP Leader Adrian Dix of being the "Billion-Dollar Man" after counting up the cost of his party's promises.

      NDP launches new ad  There's a new TV message from the NDP, this one featuring characters saying: "I want a new government." It's remarkably similar in format to the federal NDP's "I want a leader" ad in 2011, which worked wonders for Jack Layton.

      Manning Park resort sold  CBC News has reported that Sunshine Valley RV Resorts and Cabin has won court approval to buy the ski resort at Manning Park. 

      Musharraf arrested  The BBC has reported that former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf is under arrest in Islamabad. It's related to his allegedly unlawful confinement of judges in 2007.

      Canucks crash in third period  The Dallas Stars scored four goals on Cory Schneider in the final frame on their way to a convincing 5-1 victory last night.

      Kim Kardashian divorce goes through  TMZ.com has reported that Kim Kardashian is single again after a court hearing with basketball player Kris Humphries. The entertainment site is reporting that he received no money and dropped his demand for an annulment.

      The CBC and it seems even the Straight are sure messing up on the Boston bomber story. Watch the US networks e.g. CNN, and see the interviews live and then see how CBC etc. report later on those interviews. Quite pitiful. Mixing up the brothers stories, ethnicity vs birthplace, schools...
