The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors Highgate

Highgate comes to the Cultch’s Historic Theatre (1895 Venables Street) from April 30 to Mary 4. All performances start at 8 p.m.

The dance piece takes its inspiration from London, England’s Highgate Cemetary and explores Victorian funerary culture, including Victorian fascination with death and the afterlife. Created by Vancouver’s Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg of Tara Cheyenne Performance, Highgate also features costumes by visual artist Alice Mansell, music by composer Marc Stewart, and dancers Justine A. Chambers, Alison Denham, Susan Elliott, and Bevin Poole.
