Fubar's Deaner rips off Rush album art to promote Nightseeker gig

Perusing today's issue of the Straight I came across an ad in the music section that I thought was kinda cool.

As a fan of both Rush and the Fubar movies, I liked the way actor-musician Dean Murdoch integrated the album-cover art from Rush's 1975 album, Fly By Night, to create an ad promoting his gig at Vancouver's Biltmore Cabaret tonight

The ad shows an image of Murdoch--aka Pilsner-swigging Alberta metalhead Deaner from the Fubar flicks--riding atop the snowy owl from Fly by Night in full-on boogie mode, bringing the Dio-dealt demon horns with both hands. "True North Strong & Deadly" reads the inscription.

      Now that's givin' er.

No word yet on whether the recent Rock Hall inductees plan to sue or not.

      Kinda doubt it, though.
