Live Nation has announced that Canadian rock group the Sheepdogs will play an all-ages show at Malkin Bowl on Friday, August 30, as part of the annual Concerts in the Park series.

Consisting of Ewan Currie, Leot Hanson, Ryan Gullen, and Sam Corbett, the Saskatoon-based band has built its name through hard work and determination, having funded its first three albums and early years of touring independently.

With the release of 2010's Learn & Burn, a famous Rolling Stone cover in 2011, and 2012's Black Keys-produced album, The Sheepdogs, the group has successfully launched itself into the mainstream music world.

“Our goal is two-fold,” Currie says. “We want to make killer albums that people really want to listen to, but we also want to have a really reputable live show. When we come through town we want to be the hottest ticket there. Those two elements are what make a truly great rock and roll band. Really, though, we just want to play to anyone who is willing to give us a shot and who wants to have a good time.”

Tickets for the show are priced at $30 (plus service charges and fees) and go on sale this Friday (May 10) at 10 a.m. on the Live Nation website.

Tickets are also available for purchase by phone at 1-855-985-5000, at Red Cat and Highlife Records and at all Ticketmaster outlets.
