Canucks coach Alain Vigneault says goalie Cory Schneider will start in goal tonight against the San Jose Sharks.

Schneider made the trip with the team and reportedly participated in the pregame drills.

Backup netminder Roberto Luongo played well in the first two losing games of the Western Conference quarter-final at Rogers Arena.

However, Luongo allowed a goal by Patrick Marleau in the final minute of the third period of Game 2, enabling the Sharks to tie and later put the game away in overtime.

Defenceman Chris Tanev and forward Jordan Schroeder also made the trip to San Jose.

Team plays better, more focused, more technically sound in front of Schneider.

Different leadership in goal changes the team.
