      NDP leaks memos  The NDP has obtained memos showing that staff in the premier's office worked during government hours to enhance the B.C. Liberals' electoral chance in the Port Moody-Coquitlam by-election.

      Coleman dismisses plot against premier  Veteran cabinet minister Rich Coleman has claimed that there’s no plot to oust Christy Clark as B.C. Liberal leader immediately after election polls close at 8 p.m. on Tuesday (May 14). Global TV broadcast a report last night about a secretive 801 club of disaffected B.C. Liberals who are eager to replace Clark.

      Clark messes up ballot  While voting in an advance poll in Burnaby yesterday, B.C. Liberal Leader Christy Clark wrote her own name even though she isn’t a candidate in Vancouver-Fairview, where she lives. After the error was pointed out to her, she pencilled in the name of Margaret MacDiarmid.

      Oraclepoll shows NDP ahead  An Oraclepoll Research telephone survey for the Victoria Times-Colonist has the NDP at 41 percent of decided voters, compared to 37 percent for the B.C. Liberals, 12 percent for the Greens, and 10 percent for the B.C. Conservatives.

      Scientists offer climate briefing to Joe Oliver  After Natural Resources Minister Joe Oliver went on the offensive against climate scientist James Hansen, a dozen Canadian experts—including SFU's Mark Jaccard and UBC's Simon Donner—wrote him a letter of concern. They offered to provide Oliver with a "full briefing on recent scientific findings on climate change and energy development".

      TD Bank forecasts lower dollar  One of Canada’s biggest banks has predicted that the Canadian dollar may tumble to US$0.90 by year-end because of a slowing economy and lower commodity prices.

      Canucks clean out lockers  The Vancouver Canucks will make their final trip to Rogers Arena today to remove their gear. This comes amid speculation that coach Alain Vigneault will be fired after the team was swept in the first round of the playoffs by the San Jose Sharks.
