Earlier today (February 11), Vancouver police let everyone know that they were searching the city for the Harlem Globetrotters’ inflatable mascot.

Big G had been stolen from the team's tour bus.

But it turns out that the VPD had Big G all along.

Here's the department's second news release on the matter:

Big G Pumped for Tomorrow's Game

Vancouver - Big G will be pumped for tomorrow night's Harlem Globetrotters game, following 24 hours in the VPD lock-up.

Last night, VPD officers responded to an East Vancouver apartment to recover a stolen computer. While inside the suite, police located a number of other suspected stolen items. Without being able to track down the rightful owners, the goods were taken to the VPD's property office where they were secured for the night to await further investigation.

Following today’s media coverage of the Globetrotters stolen mascot, officers recognized that one of the items resembled Big G.

Late this afternoon, Big G was reunited with his teammates, as the Globetrotters prepare for tomorrow night's game.
