TEAM players getting ready for hot Vancouver summer
Members of The Electors Action Movement of the Lower Mainland Association—or, simply, TEAM—will pitch a tent Saturday (June 22) in Trimble Park. They will participate in the second day of the Point Grey Fiesta, a three-day summer event on the West Side.
"This is the first time we’re out publicly," TEAM cofounder Bill McCreery told the Straight by phone.
A revival, of sorts, of The Electors’ Action Movement of the late Vancouver mayor Art Phillips, TEAM plans to run candidates in the 2014 municipal election.
"We will be there [at the park] to talk to people, provide information on who we are, and also just have a presence," McCreery said. "It’s important for us to have a presence so that people get to know us."
With many other community events happening across the city this summer, it’s going to be a busy season for TEAM.
"Our hope is to attend as many as we can," McCreery said.
