The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors Pandit Jasraj in concert

One of India’s leading classical vocalists, Pandit Jasraj, will perform at the Michael J. Fox Theatre (7373 McPherson Avenue, Burnaby) on Sunday (June 30) at 7 p.m.

The 83-year-old Hisar-born musician belongs to the Mewati gharana style of Hindustani classical music. Jasraj began singing at a young age, training with his father and older brother, and later under Kewat gharana teachers. He is known for his three-and-a-half octave range and use of precise diction.
